Fall 2001 -- The technology scene has exploded over the past 20 years.  The travel industry is now poised to take full advantage of this area of growth as well.  But, aside from technological services provided by travel industry chains (or large companies that can afford it), how can every travel industry company benefit from the advent of travel technology via the internet and otherwise?

The most obvious answer to this question has to do with perhaps establishing non-traditional automated capabilities - including that in the area of business marketing.

This may include the forming of alliances with companies that you may otherwise have not considered.  For example, there may be other travel industry vendors similar (but not exactly) to your own business that will become your associates for your travel industry technology objectives.  This may especially make sense for you if it helps to augment your position in the marketplace - besides making it more affordable.
